DescriptionA small boulder choked arroyo located near the West entrance to Scenic Dr. Local mountain folks call the canyon Crazy Cat, but it's official name is The Palisades. A park sign is located at the trailhead with Rules and Information.
This area has a no recorded climbing history that I know of. Freinds and I started visiting the area in 1994. Most obvious boulder problems had already been established and the Prow had signs of previous climbers top roping its steep faces.
The Palisades is currently the only bouldering area in the Franklin Mountain range open to the public. So its become the spot for climbers to go get a quick fix and pump-out.
Getting ThereDon't block the gate when parking. Follow the road veering left (not right) to a large metal gate. After passing the gate find a trail that drops down into the arroyo. Follow the arroyo directly to the boulders.
