Access Issue: Seasonal Raptor Closures ***** RAIN AND WET ROCK ***** The sandstone in Zion is fragile and is very easily damaged when it is wet. Holds rip off and climbs have been and will continue to be permanently damaged due to climbers not respecting this phenomenon. After a heavy storm the rock will remain wet, sometimes for several days. PLEASE DO NOT CLIMB IN ZION during or after rain. A good rule of thumb is that if the ground near your climb is at all damp (and not powdery dry sand), then do not climb. There are many alternatives (limestone, granite, basalt, and plastic) nearby. Description

Three distinct peaks just east of the West Temple (the right side as viewed from the road.) They offer a variety of single and multi-pitch routes.

Getting There

There is no longer access through the OC Tanner amphitheater, this is private property. There is no longer parking at the end of the road at the gate for OC Tanner. Park on Lion Blvd, walk the road, enter the wash immediately right of the gate. The wash is a right of way and will provide the same access to the Mary's. Make your way up the wash to the break in the Springdale band to the base of the routes.
