Description Suggest change

This is a deep, overhanging area forming a cave-like structure. It is on the west (left) side of the canyon to the north of the talus slope containing a large boulder. It is partially hidden from view by trees and brush. There are seven bolted routes here and a few “bolts to nowhere”.

Two of the routes start in the cave and one of those exits the cave. Three bolted routes are found on the vertical walls to the right of the cave mouth, and two more start on a ledge to the left of the cave and ascend the wall above and to the left of the cave.

There is a birdhouse attached to a tree near the mouth of the cave.

Getting There Suggest change

Hike along the trail until the trail reaches the level of the stream. Continue up until you can backtrack across the steep, loose slope on the left.

Cross the slope more or less horizontally and then scramble up into the scrub oak through an opening in the brush above the slope.

After thirty feet or so along a faint trail through the scrub oak you break out at the base of the cliffs. Two bolted routes are another few feet along on the left; continue along the base of the cliff passing a deep, short, overhanging section.

Eventually you come to a corner and turn right along the base of the rock and the cave is in front of and uphill from you.
