Description

Boulder Falls is a popular tourist destination with a well-marked and maintained footpath. While the falls usually has a large volume of water flowing over it, on occasion, during especially cold periods the falls freezes thick enough to be climbed. At those times, Boulder Falls provides a short, moderate ice climb and the only natural ice in Boulder Canyon. With the year-round popularity of the falls as a tourist destination, you are likely to excite more than a few spectators.

Getting There

About 8 miles up the canyon Boulder Falls is well marked by several roadside signs. Park in the parking area on the left hand side and cross the street and follow the tourist trail approx 100 yards to Boulder Falls.

Is climbing at Boulder Falls a viable option? I've heard they are closed during the winter. Nov 16, 2010
