Description
Deceptively overhanging, this rock is the largest in the area. Routes run approximately 90’ (30m) on the main face. This spot offers a spectacular view of the ocean, but then again, so does every rock in the area.
The Main Wall hosts several routes in the 5.10a to 5.13c range including of some of the toughest sport routes in the Bay Area. Additionally, there are also several traditionally leadable lines on the left side of the wall above the North Ledge.
The rock has good friction but any rain can quickly change this to very slick footing. Weather conditions can vary from fog bound in hot summers to full sun and warm on winter days. Changing sometimes in extremes from the late morning cold to a beautiful ocean sunset.
CAUTION! Many of the original bolts have been replaced but some still remain. Use your best judgment and back up when in doubt.
Getting There
Once you're on top of the main rock, you can walk to the rightmost side and track down the bolts to rappell down.
If you're more inclined to just walk down you can simply walk down from the top and around to the right side, where you will see the overhanging face and arete on the largest rock around.
