Description
Split Rock is an area comprised of two ~50' boulders split down the middle by a 3-6' wide chimney. While only about 20-25 feet high, there are over 20 different top rope routes to climb plus a long boulder traverse. The climbs can also be done as highball bouldering problems but this is not for the faint of heart.
For a relatively tiny area there is a surprising variety including a dihedral climb, many face and arete climbs, and chimney climbs in the split. Many of the top-rope routes are in the 5.6-5.9 range, with a few harder routes outside and some tricky 5.11 routes within the split.
The rock itself is serpentine and is mostly very high quality. It's an interesting mixture: easy to crimp and hold with the hands, but can quite slippery on the feet in places.
