ah, skitch...not sure. i didn't inquire about the size run...was the original Techno avail in a 48? i'd drop scarpa an email and ask 'em....they're usually good about big sizes in their AT stuff....rock shoes? no clue!

Hey Copp,
Is the rubber still xs edge?
I bought a closeout pair this year and like them
although I would love it if they put xs grip 2 on them.

the pair I had were XS Grip...but lemme check on production model...I'm headed to SCARPA on Monday to return 'em, so I'll ask then....

Stay tuned---RC

sweet, been trying to find a pair of technos for a while. Had to settle for the vapor lace-ups for now but I'm glad to hear that Mariacher is bringing this version back.

They appear to be worth the wait if you are looking for a face climbing shoe. From the description you post it sounds like the major differentiating benefits of this shoe (for me) as being a thin crack killa have promptly been removed - definite WTF territory. Bottom line is that I will keep resoling my Technos with Five Ten rubber and enjoy a shoe that does very well on steep, thin cracks. The low toe profile is the whole reason I bought the shoe...pretty lame that Scarpa doesn't really have many good crack climbing shoes anymore.

The toe is definitely a little less chiseled...so maybe for thin, thin cracks it's a step down...but I climbed some wider stuff and still liked it...maybe wait and see what the production model looks/feels like. I haven't climbed in the Feroce--thin-crack climbable?

Spoke with a SCARPA dude today: XS Edge for production models, bit of a midsole (same or slightly stiffer than previous Techno)...
