The Middle Zone - Reno Boulders

It's in the middle zone that most of the actions happens. Here you'll find generally feet less, tan granite erratics, An easy approach and quality stone has made this area the default sector for climbing at Sommerset. While most of the plumbs have been picked, a few harder lines still wait to be sent.

Small pads are all you really need as nothing is too highball here, but the movement is good and the grainy-ness continues to diminish as the lines see more ascents.

good in the evenings, try to obey the parking signs.

Perpetual Dreaming V8  NV : Reno - Carson City : ... : Middle Zone
This beautiful proud line leads up the steep and desperate overhanging arete. A powerful technical crux down low leads to a delicate finish that is no gimme. This boulder problem is one of the most unique and beautiful lines I have ever seen or attempted. The arete just has enough holds to get you to the top, but finding the sequence through the holds requires some out of the box thinking and results in a very rewarding ascent. Definitely one of the classic boulder problems in the tahoe area....[more]   Browse More Classics in NV
