Good god man, apply some extra sun screen. Just couldn't get past that. |

The secret area, that everyone in the state knows about, needs to be kept secret? |
|
Did you remove the link? I see nothing there but the word "Here" and that isn't linked... |

I took down the video b/c people are complaining about me putting up video's of hush hush climbing spots. |

Pat Mac wrote:I took down the video b/c people are complaining about me putting up video's of hush hush climbing spots. @Steve Pulver: My thoughts exactly.I'm with you. The rock climbing meetup group goes there. THE MEETUP GROUP! The cat's out of the bag all you secret agents. |

Can you PM me the video? I'm working inside while watching snow appear on top of the mountains around here. I promise that I'm not going to leave Utah immediately and start trashing everyone's super-secret spot in whereverthehellNewMexicoorArizona. I just need a reminder that life isn't always rainy and wet. |
|
Can you put the Waterfall video back up? That area's not super-secret, and the video was fun. :) |

Ok well after popular demand I will put the Water Fall area back up. And if you would like you can check out the other video too. |

Matt S wrote:please dont post anything about the peaks. there is a good reason its not on mountain projects.I just watched the video and WTH dude? Do you think that the 5 seconds of road footage and the video of the wall itself is going to unlock some secret key to your secret spot's location? Are thousands of people poring over Google Earth right now to find the perfect satellite image of this spot? Or are you so much of an elitist that you can't handle non-locals even seeing your spot on a computer screen? |

Pat Mac wrote:Ok well after popular demand I will put the Water Fall area back up. And if you would like you can check out the other video too.You guys suck! Where are the 500 yards of blueberry bushes that we have to hack through to get down to the rock for new routing here in the North East? You guys are completely spoiled. That goes for the Sierras too. Every picture I see is immaculate rock with big beautiful features. I'll be there next week with my Bosch and a box of bolts ; ) |

Just watched the video. That route looks like it could be totally led on bolts!! |

Matt S wrote:please dont post anything about the peaks. there is a good reason its not on mountain projects. It's okay, there's nothing to be embarrassed about. We've all climbed on basalt and liked it...even if we didn't admit it. |

BASE1361 wrote: LOL +1 The Peaks, Flagstaff = Secret The Waterfall, Sedona = Not secret Check this on out The PeaksThat's some interesting history I never knew about. The bolt chop manifesto. Weird. It makes me wonder if the secrecy clause is such a great idea, or if another chopping incident will occur because the published climbing information still really isn't out there for well-informed contention to occur. Oh well. My only beef with the "secret" places in AZ is you never quite know what you're getting into grade, protection, or route wise. Yet, you are there because nobody can do something without wanting/not wanting/no, but really wanting everybody else to know about the really awesome place they know about. But, yeah, no guidebook. The 5.10 dihedral climb mentioned in that link, for instance, has undergone several transformations and now has a new start that goes at 11-something (our guess at the crag that day) but is actually for a harder sport route that now crosses the original start (featured in Pat Mac's Peaks vid). So, the original flavor of that dihedral climb is lost to some extent without climbers new to the area ever having a way to know. Of course, not completely knowing is its own adventure and I'll keep visiting The Peaks when I'm in the area, guidebook or no. And, for such a secret area, I'm never alone! |

Let me get this straight: Austin who appears to be a real person says some mean stuff, so somebody sets up an anonymous account under "t bag" and tells him that sort of thing is lame, and then anonymously bashes pmac? This is like mud wrestling for climbing addicts.... |

Please tell me if I've got this straight: PatMac posted a video showing himself and some other dudes sport climbing at this SUPER SECRET NINJA COWBOY CRAG, and somehow that is tantamount to letting the proverbial cat out of the bag on said SSNCC. Meanwhile, you can SEE the fucking crag from town! |
