Best thread ever?

That's right - I'm so lame I don't even read MP for the climbing - I read it for the entertainment. (Either that or I'm a genius postmodernist who's having a big meta-joke on all of you right now.) But I want to know what your favorite threads are. Do you get turned on by the Booty Clapper? ( mountainproject.com/v/bad-k…) Does your pulse quicken when you read about the exploits of Jim Ebert? ( mountainproject.com/v/prett…) Which threads kept your gear gathering dust in the corner as you frantically clicked "refresh", hoping that some new nugget of awesomeness had been posted? |

False - the OP in this one is a massive tool. |

I love any thread that oozes history. Like the Eiger biner thread or the Scariest runout thread that explained the first ascent of Needle's Eye in the Needles. |

I loved the thread that was titled,"LOOKING for a real outdoorsman to host a docu reality show , Denver / Boulder, seriously!!!$$" |

Mike McHugh wrote:A great thread should have: 1) An introduction 2) tangential reactions to 1). 3) Stunningly rapid proof of Godwin's law 4) Some very callous statements ("I used to solo that naked after ice storms, that gumby had no business leaving the parking lot") 5) A handful of heart-rending personal anecdotes to disprove the evolving thesis of the thread 6) Some hand-wringing, aka "sending good vibes" 7) feature an MP "celebrity" dramatically deleting all their posts and quitting (only to "lurk" for years afterward) and eventually morph into a years-long epic battle of thread-slaying This is great!!! Hahahahaha!! |

I liked the one that had me explaining in great detail where to find Twinkies! Till it was pointed out that I really didn't have a clue about what the thread was all about. |
