Mt Skarland is a nice mountain the offers good opportunities for ridge climbs and skis. A direct line was climbed up this face in 2013, there is little or no information about previous climbs on the face. The face reportedly consisted of steep snow, awful chossy rock climbing up to 5.6 and rotten alpine ice in the AI2+ range.

Ski up the Hayes glacier headed towards Mt. Geist, on the right hand side a series of ice falls leading towards the south face Skarland.
