Description
Start on the slab left of the memorial stone, follow finger crack in middle of slab into the upper corner, difficult jams and thin feet through the overhanging corner above. High quality rock and good pro to 3 in. Two glue in bolts over the top of the roof.
Location
This route is 5 minutes from the car on the regular trail to the slabs. There is an obvious stone set on the wall as a memorial for Bud Pierce. This may have been buds favorite place to fish. After extensive cleaning of the lower half of the climb I was delighted to uncover this gem. It is an instant classic.
Protection
I placed 4 cams on this route which was adequate but you could place more. .3,1,2,3 in that order. Choose placements of upper two cams carefully as the crack is bigger on the inside. There are 2 glue ins over the lip for anchor. It’s possible to set a top rope after leading but make sure it’s extended over the edge.
