Description
No climbing trip to Canada is complete without a stop at one of Timothy Horton's very fine breakfast purveying establishments, especially when you need big calories for a big day hunting down vertical ice. With hockey stick door handles, a lucky loon on the floor, and the story of young Timmy growing up slapping the puck around on a frozen lake, it doesn't get much more Canadian than Tim Hortons.
Like Timmy's food, the holds on this very vertical route are good but not great. (Hockey) stick clipping the first bolt is highly recommended, as the first move is a powerful one. Wolf down those Timbits to get the energy needed to semi-dynamically lunge your way onto the initial ledge above the classic Maple choss base. From here, a series of easier but still adversarial moves will bring you to the second solid ledge where you can comfortably clip bolt #2. Scrape your way up another couple meters, finding help on the left, to reach one of the better jugs that looks loose but feels bombproof. Leverage this jug to high clip bolt #3 before pulling the minor roof. After the roof, a series of nice holds will have you cruising to the anchors.
