Although this area is private property, a general rule of thumb in michigan is that undeveloped, wild spaces are open for public recreation UNLESS they are posted no trespassing. Michigan actually has a law called the Recreational Land Use Act that encourages private landowners to allow public recreation. This area has no "no trespassing" signs or fences so it seems ok but please practice leave no trace and clean chalk and tic marks off the boulder when you're finished.
