Description Suggest change

"Audacious Icarus! You dare invade MY domain! Your doom is nigh! What will be your downfall? My overhead labyrinth of crimps? My razor fangs of quartz? Or your pitiful, melting forearms of wax?"

Will you triumph over the Minotaur by onsighting this route? Or will you timidly skulk past the beast on your seventh burn? The brilliant crux of this unique climb is a pumpy overhang with a precise series of holds on sharp, coarse-grained granite. Can you puzzle out the sequence before your forearms melt? Good luck!

Route Notes:

  • Consider rappelling to avoid rope wear over a sharp edge.

Original Hardware Installed in 2023:

  • Bolts: Fixe Stainless Steel Wedge Bolt #340 Double Expansion 3/8" x 3 3/4", (17mm wrench). The bolt holes were drilled extra deep, to aid possible future route maintenance.
  • Hangers: Fixe Stainless Steel 3/8" Powder Coat. Although these came factory-painted, to better match our rock color, I applied additional ultra flat camo paint, colored "sand" and with a misting of black specks.
  • Chain: Everbuilt, grade 43, 3/8", zinc plated steel.
  • Quick links: Climbtech 3/8" plated steel, 2200 lbs working load, (15mm wrench).

Location Suggest change

Near the north end of the west face, 90 feet left of Too Cool for the Cobbler and Under Toucan's Nose.  Minotaur and Grizzly Cow start at the same spot and share the first bolt.
