Description
One Ring can be climbed as an independent line at V2/5+ or as a direct finish to Choke Hold. As in independent line start on the huge ledge/jug feature at the roof lip where Choke Hold transitions from horizontal to vertical. Instead of traversing left to finish on the upper half of We Squeezes, climb directly up. From the microwave sized block feature at the roof make a big move up and left to a series of made to order in cut jugs culminating with a spicy stand up move as the angle transitions to slab.
A summary follows about the route name and concept taken from The Lord of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkien. The One Ring finish to Choke Hold lay in plain sight under pine needles, moss, and lichen for over a decade.
"The One Ring remained hidden on the river bed for almost two and a half millennia, until it was discovered on a fishing trip by a hobbit named Déagol. His friend and relative Sméagol, who had gone fishing with him, was immediately ensnared by the Ring's power and demanded that Déagol give it to him as a "birthday present"; when Déagol refused, Sméagol choked him to death and took the Ring. It corrupted his body and mind, turning him into the monstrous Gollum."
One ring to rule them all,
one ring to find them,
One ring to bring them all
and in the darkness bind them.
Location
