Description Suggest change

Treason on the Tiber is 75 ft of incredible and engaging action that is with you from start to finish. Its movement calls upon an assortment of skills to utilize crimps, side pulls, underclings, pinches, jugs and intentional footwork to tie together sequences of powerful, pumpy, and purely enjoyable climbing that seems to have you flow up the wall. This route is on from the second you start to the moment you clip the chains.

The movement on the route is reminiscent of a flowing (and sometimes raging) river. Keep your composure and find the correct beta, or the pump with catch you off-guard and betray you on your quest to the chains. Also, while far from the tragic rivalry between Romulus and Remus, the battle for the first ascent of this bound-to-be classic line had its share of friendly competition and heartbreak.

————————————————————-

The Tiber River was a source of the famous Aqueduct system in Ancient Rome. Its waters supplied public baths, latrines, fountains, and private households; it also supported mining operations, milling, farms, and gardens. The river itself was critically important to Roman trade and commerce. On a darker note, it was also the site of criminal executions for centuries, including some Catholic popes under Tiberius and other rulers.

Location Suggest change

Left of Cleanse and Purge and right of Ebb and Flow (last route before scrambling up the gully). The route starts above a slanting boulder that leads into an obvious rock scar. Start off the boulder or climb the right seam into the rock scar, although easier to clip the first bolt from the boulder.

Protection Suggest change
