Access Issue: Private Property Details

Climbing at Cascade Canyon is on private property, not US Forest Service land. Climbing on private land is a privilege - please leave no trace and remind other visitors to treat the area with respect.

Description

Start with a moss/ice seep to gain the crack in the left-facing dihedral. Follow the crack to the anchors below the large roofs. The dihedral is formed by a detached rock pillar but seems solid enough. I believe a bolt (now one of the anchor bolts) was placed at the top of the dihedral by Jared Ogden to access a farmed ice pillar years ago. I don't know if he climbed the left dihedral or the larger right dihedral. The farmed ice pillar version is referred to as "Wicked Garden" in Colorado Ice 2nd. edition by Jack Roberts.

Location

An obvious pillar of rock leans against the cliff base south of the main Cascade ice flows. This route starts about 30 feet north of the rock pillar and is the left hand of two dihedrals leading to large roofs. This is south of Easta'gunzin.
