One of the bigger climbs on the North Shore, this moderate makes for a fun days outing. 60 feet high and often 30 feet wide, a number of variations make this enjoyable over and over!
The setting gives you the feel of remote adventure climbing less than 15 minutes from the car...

Highway 61 to County Road 7 then follow to County Road 45. Take a left on 45 and follow a couple miles to the bridge that crosses the Cascade River. Park in the lot and hike down river (towards Lake Superior) about a 1/4 mile. The climb will be obvious. Snowshoes are a good idea for the approach.

Usually fat enough to take 22cm screws...6 to 8 screws should sew it up! There is usally an anchor station in the trees at the top but if not, make one with runners or webbing.

Conditions are great up there as of 12/15. Would take 22's the whole way if you had em. Dec 15, 2007

You can also access this climb by driving about another mile down the road to a pull off and hiking down a trail for about a minute. You can setup a top rope on the trees and rap down. I used a 70m rope but a 60 should work fine. Feb 21, 2017
