approach socks?? Wait... what?

Here is the true approach sock:

I used them on the walk-off off of Spearhead last week, worked great! I hike in in a proper shoe/boot, and use these for walk-offs and things that are too long or rough for bare feet.

No one here changes from light socks to heavy socks at the base of an ice climb, after approaching through some heinous hours of misery?

I already use the bajillions of ski socks I already own for this purpose.

$60 ouch

I'll stick to my old socks + plasti-dip idea

or possibly: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07QRQSD4L/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?smid=A30P12WY6PFV27&psc=1 If the weight claim is true ("A pair weights 3.53-4.23oz/pair")

I am working on a new approach item: The Outdoorsy Diaper. It's backs you up when nervously approaching your alpine objective.

Let's face it, we're all not as tough as yesteryear's hardmen, so some of us get scared when we first see our route from afar. Don't worry though, it's totally organic, pudding proof....butt it's very breathable in the front so as not to chaf your jiggly or inverted parts .

Look for it at finer outdoor retailers, student bookstores and Starbucks Feb 2020!

Guys you need to geg your self some Keen socks, best things vere and they actually last. They're like 5% dyneema, I walk allot and I don't like the idea of socks only lasting 3 months.

I have some Keen socks for refereeing. You know the ones, knee high black socks with a white bands at the top...Keen makes good socks.

I thought this thread was going to be about how to approach socks.

I get like ten wears out of Smartwool socks. So far I've always lost my Darn Tough socks before putting holes in them, with one exception. Both companies will replace your socks if you send them back with holes, but I have to do that far less often with Darn Tough socks.

I've actually written to Darn Tough asking if they would make other wool products like t-shirts, because their socks are so good. Sadly the answer was no.
