anyone know where to buy TX4 online.  the la sportiva website for north American doesn't have the same selection as their Europe site.

FiveTen FreeRider pros. Technically a mountain bike shoe, but they have stealth rubber on the bottom.

thx Gilman, actually looking for women's low top TX4 GTX for my wife.  Can't find them anywhere.  LaSportiva's North American website doesn't list them for sale.

Where my goretex has failed its been in footwear with bendy soles. There's probably some logic to that ie continuous flexion of a trapped layer compared with rigid mountain boots

Is this failure over time? Seems like that would make sense but mine failed out of the box.

After a few weeks use in my case.

Another vote for either the TX 4 / TX 3. My climbing partner and I both have wide feet and I have the tx3 and he has the tx4. The toe box is especially wide and comfy. The 3 and 4 have the same last. The TX 2 felt much narrower and lower volume.

I have the tx2 and they are far to narrow how are the tx4 in wet canyons for drainage

One thing to keep in mind if you try on the TX4 is that they are leather and they stretch a lot.  I remember mine being snug initially but now they are loose to the point of being very comfortable and almost too loose for a good approach shoe unless I really crank down on the laces.  My foot is wider than average but I find that I have the most trouble with the mid-foot width.

What size you need?   I've got some EU 44 that didn't fit I need to off load.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
