So true, my dad and uncle had what looked like black cotton balls in their ears all the time.......one day I looked in the mirror and went....NOOOOOOO! While we're at it.....why are the hairs in the drain always the colored ones?

Being toeless , I no longer experience this issue.I would advise a careful trimming before trying anything as extreme as toe removal. It seems that those toes were very useful for the act of climbing.

Welcome to the wonderful world of aging. A few years ago, my big toe started to dig into my second toe. The cause was decreasing mobility due to the onset of of mild arthritis, the big toe did not flex up and down as easily as it could sideways.
No matter what I did to my toenails, the big toe was digging a hole which became a callous thing in my second toe. Now, I always need to tape/band aid/moleskin my second toe or the pain makes me never wanna wear rock shoes.

Thanks for the feedback, though! Very helpful.

My butt hairs tie themselves into wee tiny knots when climbing, especially in hot muggy weather. Makes dropping a deuce particularly painful and messy. Any advice?

Haha. Climbed in them again tonight and the pain was gone...some combo of trimming/letting the shoe conform back to my foot seems to have done the trick. Will probably tape if it happens again...I think the leather might have shrunk and stiffened while they were not being used. Good luck with your butt thing.

I thought we might have to call a podiatrist.
