Harness: Petzl Sama or Adjama?

I don't understand the dislike of adjustable leg loops. For those of you who don't like them, why? Do they poke you? Do they break? Do they get in the way somehow? My thinking is, better to have adjustability and not need it than not have it and need it. I have the Petzl Aquila. Similar to the Adjama. Has adjustable leg loops. I don't really ever adjust them. But they allow me to custom tailor the leg loops to the size I want and I leave 'em there and forget about it. Just like you would with non-adjustable.

In any event, both the Sama and the Adjama seemed like great harnesses to me. They were way more comfortable than any other harness I tired on. Ultimately I liked the minimalism of the Aquila over the Adjama though.

I've had the Sama for 2 or so years now. I climb everything in it, trad, ice, alpine, you name it. Love the simplicity of having just 1 buckle on the entire harness. Gear loops can be a little floppy, but they haven't been a huge problem for me and, as mentioned above, this can be a slight advantage when thrutching. I would buy it again, but after 2 years of moderate to heavy use my original is still going strong so there is no need!

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
