I've dealt with sciatica and lower back issues for quite some time after a single event.
The thing that sucks about backs is often once it happens you will have recurring issues. I sit on a ball at work, do yoga etc to keep it at bay.
A chiro can help massage, do electrical stim and adjust you and let your body heal. Sometimes I take a few days of muscle relaxers just to allow my body's inflammation to chill out enough to let the healing commence. Heat helps to relax it as well.
And yeah stop jumping off stuff. Believe me as you get old these aches and pains stop going away.
Good luck with your recovery. These kind of injuries are so frustrating, since it's not only impossible to climb but it affects all the activities of daily life. Rest assured it will get better and you will be back to normal soon
Most humans have degenerative changes in the lower spine, which are natural and unavoidable, but which are mysterious and cause problems. People think the problems are related to specific things they did, actions, movements, etc, but IMO it's all just part of the genetics of your deteriorating body.
