La Sportiva TX guide
Just spoke to someone at La Sportiva US. He said they will be discontinuing the TX guide and TX2 in the us. I know a lot of people including myself like the guide, so might want to grab another pair before we have to start importing them from Europe. |

Of course they are, because the the TX Guide leather is the best approach shoe (for climbing) ever made. Thanks for the heads up. I'm on my second pair so will stock up. My feet are too wimpy for the TX-2s but that is a cult favorite. |

Nooooo! The tx4 guide is the best climbing approach shoe I have found; anyone find anything else that climbs as well? |
the TX 4 ST is basically the old TX3. The TX2 will be turning into the yet to be released TX1 The TX guide, will still be produced just only sold in Europe. And yeah even the guy I talked to from la sportive had no idea why they aren’t carrying it in the us anymore 🤷🏽♂️🤷🏽♂️ |

If your feet can accommodate to thsg shoe sure they'll be the best otherwise is pure torture wearing them. I find TX4/TX4R/EVO ST the best of the lot. |

Tx4 is a little clunky to me, but otherwise I agree |

On the US side, La Sportiva has repeatedly made very bad decisions like this one. Another one that comes to mind was their decision a few years ago to stop bringing the Akasha into the US. Same kind of thing, the people who wore it loved it and nothing else would fill the void for them. It hurt LaSpo enough that they had to reintroduce the shoe to the US. Why not just learn the lesson already, guys? Those of us who wear the TX Guide, don't want to wear anything else. |
Wait, I’m confused, is it just the TX 2 and TX guide or the 4’s as well?
Is it both the TX Guide leather and synthetic? I had heard that the synthetic might be discontinued in the US. But that the leather would continue? +1000 on the frustration with the constantly changing product availability in the US vs EU.

Guess this is the best time to try but does anyone have a right tx guide in 43.5 they'd like to trade for a nearly new 43? |

NateC wrote: Agreed and ridiculous decision. The Akasha is actually their best trail runner + hiker except for pure ultra running (Prodigio Pro). In your country some call the Akasha "Cascade cruiser." And you know how tough and gnarly the area is. Akasha feels at home in that environment. |

Will there be a replacement for the leather version of the TX2 Evo? I am also curious to know if anyone has tried using the new HyperEZ as a minimalist approach shoe? |

Big fan of the leather TX2s here. Just got a pair of TX1s, Nice build, super light but pretty different than TX2s in terms of shape. More square-ish and wider but same rubber as TX2s, with a taller lug. Unfortunately, they also have less volume over the ball of my foot and will require significant stretching in that area to be comfortable. I used them for a day hiking around Index and it was not nearly enough to break them in. Reminded of my attempts to make TX Guides work for me. Once stretched out the Guides were fine, but getting there kinda sucked. |

Karl Henize wrote: I tried out the HyperEZ as a potential 24HHH shoe. IMO, while it climbs fine for someone still in the “Putting my whole foot on a hold” stage of learning to footwork, it would be horrible to navigate any sort of approach in. The shoe seems geared most towards relatively new indoor climbers who don’t want to constantly be donning and doffing their lace-ups. |
