Looking for folks to climb in far northern California. Been on a climbing hiatus and looking to start getting out again. I currently live in Mt. Shasta, but I am willing to drive a bit.

Hey Jake, I'll definitely will be trying to get out this fall once work slows down, but if you're looking to climb sooner Kyle Sherby is looking to get out this week.

Jake,

I am in Etna and looking to climb again, been on a hiatus as well, but I am fully equipped for sport or trad. It seems like we might have a group in Siskiyou.

I'd like to go scope and add some new routes in this large scenic boulder field up in the Marbles, possibly later next week on a warm day 21/22 or 23d:

Anyone into it, possibly a small group outing? Full day from Shackleford TH. Open to other alpine adventure ideas into Fall too.

Hey Ben I would be down to go take a line up from that cirque there above maneaten sometime later this fall (I do have a random schedule though), probably would be good as a party of three though to split the rack in. Throwing out another alpine idea, or the Russians.

Cool, thanks Dylan that wall is definitely appealing and worth getting back out to. Summit Fire burned close there this year but I think stopped short of the lake and access from Kidder. September is pretty open/flexible for me, I'll message you in a couple weeks to see what could line up. Others welcome to plug in!

Good weather week ahead in the high country, if anyone wants to get out 1-3 days I'm flexible after Monday!

Still looking for folks who want to pull down. I will be getting out Thursday and Saturday. Just developed a new sport cliff close to town (Mount Shasta) 8 routes from 5.9 - 5.12 with a half mile hike. All approachable for the onsite with glue in bolts. Would like to get some other opinions on grades before posting. Cheers

Have any of you checked the granite at Bingham Lake? It looked to have some nice features and decent lines

JH or Kidder I don’t remember which used to top rope out there, and broke 2 axles on two vans in one summer and for rope lines they told me it probably wasn’t worth my time. But Lyric and Chad went out this summer and put up some absolutely stunning boulders.

Hit up Dylan E! He may be looking for someone to go with. I was going to get out but some life stuff came up and had to bail on him.. super lame. He is a solid partner.

I’ll be out at Lovers tomorrow afternoon to work on my project, but if you’re looking for a catch I can get out there earlier. I sent you a message on here with my phone number.

Bump in case anyone local or visiting is looking to get up in the west side alpine for 1-3 day trips this summer-fall. I'm most likely in scout-scramble mode initially, but might pick out some technical objectives later in the season. Pretty flexible schedule generally, and moderate fitness/ambitions. Love a good lofty traverse and/or lakeside bouldering circuit!

I'll be passing through the area from June 29 - July 1. I'm curious about summiting Shasta or possibly just a cool backcountry ski line (Is there snow up there?) but also down to entertain another Shasta area objectives.

I will also give this a bump as the OP. I am still having trouble finding consistent folks to climb with. Although I still have big hopes to bring the climbing community for this area closer.

With well over a year’s worth of effort I have established a local climbing organization (501c3 non profit) for the greater Shasta region serving Shasta and Siskiyou counties. This area has been largely plagued with poor hardware, access issues and lack of route maintenance due to the transient nature of visiting climbers. I have single handedly replaced 80 bolts this year so far and looking for others to get involved or make a donation (every little bit counts). Current focus is toward anchor replacement with modern and sustainable hardware (all anchors are replaced hole for hole).

Hit me up if you are coming to the area and want to climb, looking for route beta or have any questions about the area.

I am still in Scott Valley, and when time and life permit, always willing to climb, and Jake, thank you for setting up the bolting/replacement initiative
