Mount Rainier, Mount Baker (and others) – August 1–15

Hello,

I’m looking for partners for Mount Rainier (Disappointment Cleaver Route) and potentially other Cascade peaks.

I live in Switzerland and have solid alpine experience. I’ve completed several 13,000+ ft peaks in the Alps (unguided), climbed some Colorado 14ers, and also done a few 16,000+ ft peaks in Ecuador, including summiting Chimborazo (6,263 m / 20,513 ft). I have around 80 alpine climbs in total, including glacier travel and mixed rock/snow terrain, up to AD- level routes.

I already have Camp Muir reservations for August 2–5 and August 10–13 for Mount Rainier, but I’m flexible regarding the exact start date and will choose the final summit attempt based on weather and conditions.

I’m also considering additional climbs between August 1–15 , such as Mount Baker via the Coleman–Deming Route, Glacier Peak, and possibly Mount Shuksan, depending on conditions and partners.

I’m looking for fit, experienced partners who are comfortable with long glacier climbs, rope team travel, and sustained alpine efforts.

Funny, I just replied to your post on the Oak platform! I’d be very interested and have some good experience and training including several peaks in the PNW. This would be my first time attempting submitting Rainier, though I tour up and ski down from Camp Muir every year. 

I would be interested as well! I’ve bagged a few peaks here in the states but Rainer looks fun. I have a few years of experience trad climbing and ice climbing. Comfortable with sustained efforts because of my job as an arborist and my training for ultramarathons! I’m open to other peaks as well!

Do you happen to use the Oak app as well? I’m already planning things with Marvin, and it would probably be easiest if you could join us there too.

I just asked to joint for this en Oak App. I will be interested on the additional climbs, Baker, Glacier Peak and ShuKsan. But also why not Rainier..
