Hello Mountain Project world,

On June 13, 2026 the ACC is proud to announce that we will be hosting Tad Welch at the Keene Valley Country Club for the second installment of our Legacy Series Presentations. Tad will be presenting on his role in establishing some 161 first ascents in the Adirondacks spanning 3 decades.
Tad had a big hand in ADK route development over the years. From more recent FAs at Silver Lake to a rope solo FA of Sole Fusion (Sugarloaf 5.10c) about four decades ago during which he used hardware store bought rivets for protecting the second pitch crux slab. This is one of many stories Tad may or may not reflect on during his presentation.

This event is BYOB and BYOF.

There is a suggested $10.00 entry fee for the event. We will have several door prizes this time around.

8 Country Club Way, Keene Valley, NY 12943

Doors: 6:30pm

Presentation: 7:00pm

We hope to see you all there!

Here’s a peek at the door prizes that will be available for attendees. There may or may or may not be a noonmark pie as well.

We can begin the conversation for which pie we should pro because if you aren’t coming into this conversation without an opinion do you even climb in the adk?

Keen to make it to this event! I'm new to the area this season and would love to meet some of the community.

Today’s the day!

Again- doors at 6:30, presentation at 7:00.  Door prize raffles will follow the presentation

Todd swain hit me up after seeing this post and generously donated two guide books for door prizes. Todd reflected on how clean the FA of Grim and Bare it had been after seeing the photo in our flyer. We suspect that there may have never seen a second ascent of the route. Can anyone speak to that?

see yall tonight!  Have fun in the GATR if you’re participating!

I'd love to know if they mention the 3rd edition of Adirondack Rock. I've been anticipating it for a while, it's been more than a year that the 2nd ed is out of print.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
