Hi MP - I'm looking for a partner for Dreamweaver this upcoming weekend (Sat or Sun June 6/7). I realize its very moderate and soloable, but would prefer a partner vs going solo, even if we just end up simul soloing. None of my usual partners are available/interested. Anyone up for a fun day of alpine movement?

About me:

  • Location: Denver based for the past 12 years, been around the block here.
  • Experience: Climbed/skied extensively for about 15 years, with probably 75+ days in RMNP. Mostly rock, but comfortable on ice/mixed and kinda psyched on it right now. Have held AVI 1, AMGA SPI and Wilderness First Responder certifications. No, I'm not going to drop you.
  • Style: I prioritize being dialed with my systems and kit, and analytical on climbing in general. But we are here to have fun, and I love "moving with a joyful sense of urgency" (I stole that from someone's partner post on MP)
  • Speed: I'm no crazy runner, but capable of hiking and climbing at very reasonable speeds for big days.
  • Gear: I have too much. Ask my wife. For this objective, I'd prefer to go light with a short rope and light rack. Got that covered.
  • Other: I'm a new father so time is limited and important to me, and looking for a partner who can communicate, commit, and not bail.

About you:

  • Enough experience that you are comfortable on easy ice/mixed
  • Have your own personal gear (tools, boots, crampons, harness/helmet and personal gear etc)
  • Down for an early start, and psyched and able to do a day in the alpine
  • Can communicate, commit, and not bail. Able to hold a pleasant conversation is a bonus.

  • You and I have a lot in common. Although I am out of town this weekend. Are you available on weekdays for similar objectives?

Hey! This objective looks awesome, but I don't actually have any ice gear (crampons, ice axe, etc.), so I'm probably not the right partner for Dreamweaver right now.

That said, if you're interested in doing a different trad multipitch somewhere in RMNP this weekend, I'd definitely be down. I'm comfortable following on harder stuff and leading moderates, and I'm always looking to get more mileage in the park.

Let me know if that might be of interest!

Partner found - thanks all! Feel free to reach out for rock/alpine objectives over the summer though, I am/will be looking for partners for other objectives

Cheers!

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
