My wife and I recently moved to Boston over the winter. Since my wife doesn’t climb much, I’m looking for more general recs for weekend getaways. Hikes/camping, tubing/rafting, beaches, little towns with good food. Just fun outdoor weekend trips basically. If anyone has any favorites I’d love to hear! Cheers

We have a Hipcamp site on our property in Lovell, ME.  We’re right on Kezar Lake, 15 minutes from Fryeburg, 30 to North Conway, and 30 to Bethel.  Tons of climbing, hiking, paddling, mountain biking within a stone’s throw.

Don't sleep on the western part of the state.  There's some beautiful countryside in the Berkshires where you don't have to worry about things like getting jostled off the edge of Artist's Bluff during leaf tourist season.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
