Scarpa Boostic R Sizing Advice

I am looking into the Scarpa Boostic R sizing advice. I want to try to bridge that gap between "relative discomfort" and performance. The days of knuckle crunching and long break in periods may be over for me. my foot is a Men's size 10.75" and is a duck foot...very wide at the forefoot. I am thinking about a size 44 but wanted to see if any of you out there might have some experience with these shoes and how they tend to fit. Thanks so much in advance!

I wear about 11.5 street shoe with a medium width foot and I'm in 43.5 in the Boostic R. That's a performance fit but was fairly comfortable for me to wear on a full pitch, right out of the box. I tried to go 43 but there was no way. I personally wouldn't want to go any bigger either, but I don't size them for all day comfort. Guessing you would be a 43 or possibly 42.5. Do you have any previous reference in Scarpa shoes? I also wore 43.5 in the OG boostic, 43 in the blue Boostic. In La Sportiva rock shoes I'm usually in 42.5

I wear a 41.5 in dragos, and would probably go 42 in boostics and 42 instincts, but the instincts would be just a bit loose.They fit a teeny tiny little bit looser than the instincts. Maybe like .25 sizes. Dragos fit perfectly and while I can fit a 41.5 in instincts and boostics, trying them on for the first time they were a bit too tight to get the right performance from the shoes. These are all mens/high volume versions I'm referencing by the way.

I would say my street shoe size, but to be honest your ability to downsize is based on personal preference and I think it's more effective to compare sizing between other climbing shoes. If you can go to an REI/climbing shop and try on the Instincts or Dragos, you can find the right size in those shoes and go from there.

yes, I wear a 44.5 in the in both the Instict VS and VSR. I think I may try the 44 and see how that fits?

To muddy the waters, I wear 43-44 in Instincts depending on the model and use, and wouldn’t think of going smaller than 44 in the Boostics. I find the fit much less forgiving and have a similar foot shape to you.

Some more data points. Pretty wide forefoot, but not crazy. Probably about US 9 (mens) on a brannock. 39 is performance fit for Sportiva. 40.5 instincts. I wear the Boostic R in 40.5 for performance and 41.5 for all day/multipitch. Wear the OG Boostic in 40.5, 41, 41.5 depending on application.

I wear a size 42 in approach shoes (Rapid LT, Mescalito and TX4), size 41 in Instincts (slipper, lace, VS and VSR), size 42 in OG Boostic, Boostic R, Booster S, Drago, Chimera and Mago. When I line them all up, the sole length is the same.

For me, all of those have the same fit which is tight but comfy enough to climb all day in if I take them off between pitches.

I'm on my third resole in the OGs and second resole in the Rs. From what I can tell they are as stiff as each other but as the materials in the R feel softer (as in softer to the touch) they feel more sensitive under foot. 

Are the waters muddy enough yet? Hahahaha

Is it just me or do the new Boostics have a bigger heel and more volume across upper foot, like the top velco strap? The OG, I had a slim fitting heel that was amazing but it is pretty bad on the new R's. And the velcro strap has to be cranked until 3+ inches hang off the bottom of the shoe which was not like the OG's either.

I find that the new straps are shorter than the old ones, had to cut OG ones down. These shoes are hand made so there will be always be minor differences between identical models yet alone differences between models from different production runs. 

I haven’t owned the parrots, only the R. But I’ve got a low volume heel, and my Boostics fit me brilliantly through the heel.
