ISO housing Everett WA - relocating for work

Hello, I know this is a bit of a stretch to post on here but… I have been offered a job at Sarvey Wildlife Center for a Wildlife Rehabilitation Specialist position and am looking to relocate to Everett WA as soon as possible. My partner and I are ideally looking for a 2bd house around $2500/mo that is pet friendly as we have 3 crag mutts. We’re quiet, respectful stewards who are excited and eager to start this new chapter in the Pacific Northwest. Any recommendations or leads are welcome!

Careful renting in Everett. I work in Everett for the City but live elsewhere. There are several areas that are nice, but more areas that are not nice! Don't rent something without scoping out the location first!

I'd highly recommend looking at places to rent further east. The towns of Monroe, Sultan & Gold Bar should have options in your price range. Although you'll have to commute to work, you will be much closer to the foothills of the cascades for climbing & hiking!

As a Snohomish local and someone who previously has lived in Everett, I have to second Darren's comment.

I like Snohomish, but it has gotten kind of pricey.  There is no climbing gym in Snohomish if that matters to you (aside from my home walls =))

Arlington is nice, but has a small town feel and is a little rural. Lake Steven’s is a decent area, but I’m not sure what the rental market it like there, maybe a little higher than 2500. Personal I would pass on Everett, and most of Marysville too for that matter. Stanwood & Camino Island are also solid choices, less entertainment, but nice places to settle down.

Bellingham is the hub of all things outdoorsy and mountain sports related in the area, it’s just over an hour north of Sarvey so maybe consider moving a little more north if that’s going to be important to you (Burlington or Mt Vernon could be a good compromise)

sorry, I don’t have any direct leads, but feel free to ask any questions about the area.

I live in South Everett and the best part is being close to 522/405/i5 interchanges so centrally located to most Western Washington crags (an hour to everything) but ever-rot sucks. I'd avoid anything on US2 unless you love occasionally being in 2 hours of traffic

Arlington is cool. Went to school there

Lake stevens is blowing up, the area between lake Stevens and Marysville has seen tremendous growth. They got a chipotle and a panda Express now.

Duvall to Snoqualmie is nice. Pricier as you go south.

I live in the View Ridge neighborhood of Everett, great place to live. It’s a quick drive to Japanese Gulch for trail running/mountain biking or to Vertical World North. I can walk to the beach where we were just watching whales last week.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
