Sick, I’m looking forward to reading about the rest of Paul’s adventures! One can only hope that they live long and healthily enough to have such a good goal to chase after! |

Nice report and inspiring goal. A spur of the moment Pyramid peak jaunt in half a day at 75 is pretty darn good too! Cheering you on Paul. |

Damn that is so cool! |

At 76 years old, if I did 76 pitches in a year, I'd be pretty damn proud of myself. I'm really looking forward to following this! Good Luck! |

Mark Hudon wrote: It was fun to read and a fantastic accomplishment for someone who is basically coming back to climbing after a long layoff. It sounds like he's having a great time and that is what counts. But Mark, I'd wager you will be doing far more than that in a year at 76 if you want to. I'm about to turn 73 and haven't got out to climb as much as I typically do by this time of year. But I checked my log and have done over 100 pitches so far this year outside and around 125 in the gym. I wouldn't be surprised if my similarly aged partners who live in J Tree and Bishop, where they can get outside more easily, have done double my outside count. |

Don't diminish the importance of "wanting to". I've said for years that the three things you need to be a great climber are Strength, Technique, and Desire. You can get strength, you can learn technique, but desire only comes from within. You can't search the Internet to find a way to get it or learn it. Desire is the most important of the three. |

So awesome to see it all come to fruition! |

So cool! Congrats! |

Congrats Paul! |

Fuck yeah! It occurred to me to do 40 for my 40th and I was whipped. I look forward to hearing from this! |
