I've been climbing in Eiger XT EVO GV for 3 seasons and had 2 generations of Phantom Techs prior to that. The Asolo fits me much much better because of my very low ankle and instep volume but slightly wide foot. The toe box of the Asolo is lower in volume but not dramatically so, and about as wide. The heel is narrower, the ankle and instep volume are lower. 

It's a great boot. Very light. It feels warmer than the Phantom Tech to me because I don't have to crank the lacing so tight. It climbs ice and mixed very very very well, every bit as good as the Phantom Tech for me, and the very minor amount of flex in the forefoot makes it walk better, but I've not noticed it affecting my climbing at all and I'm not using them with super stiff crampons (Darts and Blue Ice Harfang Tech.)

The Asolos fit me really well! I feel like they are a pretty middle of the road forefoot width and a narrower heel. My foot measures at just about 280mm and I bought a size 11 US (295 mm internal length). It fits well.

The toe box is wider than Sportiva G-Tech for sure. And the heel is narrower than Scarpa Phantom Tech HD for sure. I'd say the toe box is a bit wider. I agree with everything that NateC said.

Thanks for the info! I ordered a pair in. They are lovely! Insanely light, great fit, no pressure anywhere! These I think, are the ones. Toe box could be a touch wider but it’s good enough.

I basically sacrificed everything for the toe box when I bought the phantom and the past 3 years they’ve just not been quite right.

I also use the Harfang tech and they seem to fit these Eiger very well, with the bail in the 3rd hole. Thanks again for the feedback, looking forward to using these 

Yes, Koflachs the yellow ones were to bulky, heel lift, heavy etc. as well as the first LS Battura's = also mega shit for Scotland due to leaking zippers. After that I changed to Kayland M9 and now K4 GTX.and I am happy.

Have you found the flex it causes any delamination in the gaitor where it bends? They are definitely more flexible than my phantoms but also fit way better and seem to walk a lot nicer. There’s no pressure at the ankle bend which the phantom caused.
im probably not going to be able to climb ice with them again until next winter now.

I’ve definitely have at least a couple hundred miles of walking in mine and zero lamination issues. My gaiters are in great shape and have been more durable than I expected when I first felt the material.
