New Petzl 2026

Bit of googling revealed this blog, shows and talks about new updates. Most notably:

Good spot! Anyone got pictures of the new darts? Do they mean it comes standard with an alu heel? |
That is what I'm assuming. I've seen them on the video below: At around 9:26. |

Man I sure hope Petzl keeps offering the Dart with a steel heel piece. For anyone who actually spends significant time in the mountains, aluminum heel pieces are just not durable enough for regular use. I've got a pair of aluminum heels that I'll swap onto my Darts for specific days, but if I tried to use them for regular climbing I'd go through multiple pairs in a season. Whereas my steel heel pieces are two or three years old and in fine condition. Aluminum heels are great for saving weight on big days, but the reality is that the weight savings from an aluminum heel are absolutely irrelevant for the vast majority of ice climbing and ice climbers. Security and durability matter way more than weight if you're just going cragging for the day. |

Hybrid steel-aluminum crampons are the mullets of the climbing world: business up front and party in the back. |
hmm, no mention of the grigri+ updates |
Hard to tell since the “article” reads like a bunch of regurgitated ad copy, but it seems like no update to the dart fronts(?). They are just selling a combination (alu heels + dart fronts) that you had to make before. An aluminum heel with linking bar sounds like the only new component |

Thanks for sharing. It seems the writer mistook the old orange Ride for the new Gully ? The picture clearly shows "Ride" written on the shaft with no trigrest and a classic blade shape that does not match the technical blade of the Gully. And he says it's more refined lol, thats bs. I don't like the new Ride either but maybe there is a market for that ? The Gully is all around better for just 40 grams more. Idk if they're going to sell the Darts only with aluminum rear piece, it somewhat makes sense to market it as ultra light ultra technical compared to the new Lynx which does basically the same job now, but for the vast majority of us steel is better, more durable, safer. The only update we want for 2026 is a Nomic handle that remains attached to the shaft after a couple years of use, please. |

Mitch Lwrote: I doubt they're even new components, you could already build our a dart with these parts with the current lineup. This just lets you buy it off the shelf. Even the new gully just looks like a blue ice axe. Absolutely nothing interesting going on here. |

The only new bit as far as I can tell (Dart wise) is the new aluminium heel piece. Current one only works with cord not a bar? |
The headlamps in the back (one on display and two hanging) are the new Swift LT. But what are the two in the front (one one display and one hanging)? |
I got a promo email from Petzl this week about a new helmet/pack. No information other than they're coming in February. |

idk but the core battery better have a MF USB-C port, not the god-forsaken microUSB that it has now |
Lincoln Swrote: The Petzl Swift RL headlamp I bought last year has a USB-C port, so I expect you will get your wish |
Petzl core battery has been USB- C since August |
Presumably if Petzl stick to the AlpenAdapt system we can just buy the new dart bar/heel for the current front? Or at least I'm hoping |

Looks like the Bug multi pitch bag got a big overhaul: https://www.petzl.com/US/en/Sport/Packs-And-Accessories/BUG. I’m in the market for a climbing bag, and this one looks super functional, especially compared to some of the floppy minimalist ones that can’t carry a rope. |
