Not receiving emails for private messages?

I’ve had multiple people tell me they’ve sent me a DM but I haven’t received an email for it. I did get one email for a message from a different user about a week ago but nothing since. I just have a normal gmail account and have checked spam, promotions tab, etc. Is there something I’m missing or is this a bug?

Same here.  This seemed to have just started for me towards the end of November.  Did you ever find a solution?

Nope! Don’t know if it’s still happening because I haven’t been looking for partners since then.

Unfortunately, we've done some digging and haven't found anything obvious that would prevent Contact messages from successfully delivering on our end. There are a few things that could cause the issue which makes it tricky to pin down.

Like Jacob did, if you're experiencing this, some things to check:

1. Check the email address you use for your MP account in Account Settings (this is where the message gets sent)
2. Check your email spam folder and settings
3. Confirm with the sender that they used the right MP account and correctly submitted the direct message

From there, it's best to look at specific instances so please reach out to me (zander@mountainproject.com) with as much detail as possible (time message was sent, sending user, receiving user, etc.).

Same here.
I can get emails on notifications of posts (so the MP email is working) but none from direct messages… 

I’ve also checked all the folders.

@Luke - I just sent you a direct message via Contact. When you're able, would you check your email associated with your MP account for it? Should come from Mountain Project, subject line: "Message from Zander Göpfert: Testing direct message"

That came to my email. I do not receive a message in app though (maybe that’s expected).

Thanks for confirming. Correct, Contact messages are web only (mobile or desktop). 

Worth noting, you can technically access the web version of MP through the MP app through the Forums button and then tapping a user's name, which reveals the MP web navigation bar, but that has limitations.

Seems it’s still happening to me.  Had someone try to PM me for an item I had for sale but I never received the message.

Been having the same issue, multiple people saying they never received from me and vice versa
