Hi,
Is it really worth exploring the descent of Epinephrine ?
Or the descent is really obvious with the cairns ?
And how hard is the ascent like really steep slope or impossible since there are some short rappel

Cheers,

The first time I climbed Epi I left a handful of cams on the top out so the next morning I hiked up the decent. It was easy class 2,3 walking.

The reflective tape helped us get down during the night. Not sure if that stuff is still there. With the shorter days, it’s most likely going to be a nighttime decent unless you’re one of the first parties and moving really quickly.

How's familiar are you w/ RR?

I have been there once a couple years ago.

I climb relatively fast but  shit can  happen.  so you are right we may /can descent in the dark because of shorter days .

So i think it is more safe to scout the descent

Totally unnecessary. The descent trail is on the mountain project map. Save it offline/load it into another GPS app if you wish. Follow this and you can't go wrong.

The Black Velvet descent isn't too bad, but has been the site of some epics due to getting lost in the dark. When I was up there 9 months ago there were 2 big cairns marking where to leave the ridge.

If epinephrine is a big reach, pack prepared or wait until the longer warmer days next season. Good luck!

You could: Climb Frogland, leave packs / gear at the saddle (don't leave food), run up the Epi descent as far as you'd like, then come back down, pick up your pack and hike the rest of the descent back to the car.

We climbed frogland to help scout decent and had no issues finding our way, mid Nov. Both are excellent routes

I highly suggest downloading the GPX track for the decent to a map app on your phone. This will ensure you are on the right trail.

Or, the OnX Backcountry app has a “climb” layer with all the Mountain Project approach trails. The annual app membership is on sale right now so it’s a no brainer for peace of mind.

Absolutely.  I planned to use the gpx on my map app on my phone

But like i mentionned, shit can happen. I can drop my phone or the battery may lose charge inadvertently  . And same thing can happen to my partner's phone too.

Thanks all
