Potrero Chico Advice

Hey all, traveling to EPC Dec 28 - Jan 3. Return flight out of Monterrey is insane and personally can't afford it at this time. Anyone have beta for getting a cheaper workaround involving crossing the border? I noticed flights out of San Antonio/Austin are much cheaper. Thanks in advance!
