I’m looking for a four season alpine partner. Preferably, you also ski and are geared for overnights!
I’ve been climbing rock-ice-snow for a couple decades. I train daily and view this as my craft. I approach movement in the mountains with a student mindset.
In addition to mountains, I’ve worked as a broadcast tower tech for five years and an arborist for the last eighteen. I recently resigned from three years on a SAR team, serving last as the lead for High Angle Low Angle Rescue.
I’m currently First Aid/CPR certified. I’ve taken the WFA course through NOLS, though cert just lapsed. Last year I took the Level I Avy Course with MAG in Cooke City. I’m currently considering coursework with AMGA to further advance and hone skillsets, as well as obtaining WFR.
I’m interested and practiced in safe efficient movement in vertical terrain…and eating good fish tacos!!
In summer, I’m into link ups in high ranges. Anything that combines mountain running with linking up low grade climbs is appealing. But I do also dig packing in and climbing hard on four star stone.
Desert crack in shoulder seasons is pretty sublime!
In winter, my eye is drawn to couloirs and anywhere snow/ice collects on walls. And to big mountains covered in snow for linking descents!!
I work for myself and generally have the ability to travel every other week.
I’m a single Dad of three beautiful humans. This factor guides risk assessment-management in the mountains, and fuels a desire for mastery and sustainability.
I’m currently keen at 5.11 terrain, and for the first time actively training to break into 5.12. I’ve led WI4 M5 - haven’t actively chased much more in that terrain. Alpine ice and couloirs are where I’m drawn…and to big powder lines!!
Reach out if you’re interested in discussing a partnership!
