4 Climbers Rescued at Mission Gorge

Anyone know what happened? Sounds like 4 climbers were rescued at night somewhere at Mission Gorge the other week?

So what climb were they on? And how did all of them get stranded vs just the climber? Any more details would be excellent to help put it into perspective 

The idea that four people were entangled on a fifty foot route and none of them were able to extract themselves from the mess and help the other three? It boggles the mind. Obviously new climbers. Call the chopper! They will save us. Next time take some courses on self rescue before you try strange risky sports like rock climbing. Gym to crag to grave. I hope the injured party can recover fully.

i think chris is highly exagerating here. i don't think there are any routes taller than 25' at mission george.  hahahaa.

Totally agree Chris. I’m so curious what they were on and how this occurred. 

Have been pondering that thought as well...been inclined to think they were on the mission gorge traverse line.  Maybe leader or last follower fell and then rope shenanigans ensued.

Looks like they are on the rampy ledges below Mission Control and skyline pinnacle, I think that’s lunch rock and The Ramp in the background. Hoping the injured climber is on the mend!

Locals? Members of any of the local gyms? Anyone know them? I’ve personally seen a similar situation unwind in real life on a glacier but a Mission Gorge rock climb with a height of 35 feet? 

I hope they're all alright. It's hard to fathom the debacle that took place here but however it unfolded, learning basic self rescue skills is supremely important even if you're just sport climbing on short walls.

I find this night time “rescue” more interesting than the nighttime rescue that went down on the slopes of Stony.

Can you share your thoughts?
