What do you do with tail end of lanyard?

For folks who use a lanyard system for a PAS, like Petzl's Connect, what do you do with the tail when you're not using it? I don't really see a way to clip it to the harness; does it just dangle behind you? Some sort of knot or hitch in the end and clip to your harness? How much tail is usually left? |

I barrel knotted a wiregate to it (replaced the cord with my own). At the anchor it's a backup and I belay straight off the Connect. On my harness it clips to the main locker and shortens the tail. |

Nevermind. Found some good videos showing the loop around the body method and the slipknot method. Thanks! |

Can you post a couple of said videos to inspire us with good ideas? |

I tuck it in my leg loop. |

Let 'er dangle to eventually get stuck in a crack and cause completely avoidable frustration. YMMV |

Dave Searle has a nice method here. Perhaps this is the video you found, though. I do the slipknot method, but tuck the knot under my leg loop before clipping to a gear loop (rather than clipping the knot as well). I did just buy some Avant quickfires, though, so I can save some room on my gear loops. |

Make it so the tail is equal length with the loop and tuck the loop into my leg loop. I also use the avant thingy. |
