Buying big wall kit in Camp 4?

Hi all - am visiting the Valley, hoping to stay in C4, for the whole of October. I've been before, but it was back-in-the-day. How reliable is it to buy, say, a portaledge in C4? I can buy before, but am coming from the UK, so it is a schlep to bring it + I figure could be cheaper if folks resell. Thanks!
