Mike (or anyone else) - The guidebook describes a road to the top of the Chiquito Dome, 6S066. Any idea if this road is clear? Like always - we appreciate your shuteye updates!

Hi all was up at the top of Chiquito Dome last week and the road since the Creek Fire and the Mono Winds and the dead trees form the bark Beatles the road to the top of Chiquito Dome from road 6s66 is done!!! The old Shuteye guide book has been out dated from grahm d. Has been out of print for years I for 2025 have the newish guide book to the area!!! If you want to climb at Chiquito Dome go to the old parking lot and follow the orange tape to the base of the dome!!! If your a slow hiker like me 35 minutes to the base. The ants a rattle snakes are the kings on the base of the crag of the dome!!! Happy climbing Mike A.

Any idea what the chilkoot lake area stuff is looking like this early in the season? Looking to head out for memorial weekend and mainly wondering how the road conditions are - don't mind having to hike a bit further. I've been trying to call Alpenglow but they seem to be closed whenever I have a chance to give them a ring.

Would anyone be able to recommend a nice campsite in a non burned area near some swimming/water that’s accessible with a AWD Honda CR-V? Headed up to Shuteye in two weeks with my girlfriend. Want to do some easy cragging and multis on some BIG knobs— Wing Feather looks like a classic. I’ve got the old guide but it seems like its road beta is no longer accurate.

Morning, wing feather is in the burn zone but still a super fun route and not to be missed! And rock creek you pass on the way. The Chilkoot area is not in the burn zone and has fun climbing and bouldering there with Beasore creek near by! Fresno Dome maybe what you are looking for with willow creek and big creek running past Fresno Dome great places to cool off and classic fun routes like south pillar and no need for a 4x4 to get there would be the e-ticket for you. Happy climbing Mike A.
