If I remember correctly, some of the earliest carbon fiber shafted tools on the market were the Lowe Alpine dog legged Hummingbirds

I would really like to get my hands on at least one , so if you have one, let me know, I have tons of stuff to trade or I'll buy it outright,

and no, I'm not talking Silent Partner priices

Close, but no cigar

I think what I was referring to were called''Big Birds" full size 50cm tools, and I believe the last rendition had carbon shafts

Certainly not definitive, (I sold Lowe and Chouinard tools in the early 80s), but I don't remember the Big Birds as having either a carbon or a bent shaft.  I remember the fiberglass Hummingbird, and used a metal Hummingbird.  My recollection was that Chouinard was the first to use carbon, with an aluminum core, in their Zeros and North Wall hammers (with forged Camp heads).  Are you thinking perhaps of the Camp Woodpecker?  I'm not sure if they had a carbon version.  Dogleg is certainly an appropriate term for their reverse-utility bend.  (I hope someone was fired for that design!)

The CAMP Woodpecker did not have a carbon shaft.

If I remember correctly some of the later generation Big Birds were like a neon green with a bend at the bottom of the shaft plus a silicone grip

I have a pair of carbon fiber axes.  I recall they are Lowe Camp Hummingbird. Charlet Moser loops.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
