This should be an easy fix.
All I need is a link to the url:

https://forecast.weather.gov/MapClick.php?lon=LONGITUDE&lat=LATITUDE

or even better:

https://www.windy.com/?LONGITUDE,LATITUDE,10

replacing the `LONGITUDE` & `LATITUDE` with the location of the climbing area.

There is no way that the ability to generate that url is 'currently unavailable'. For climbing areas that have a gps location and are located within the USA, you should *always* be able to generate that url.

if the ability to display the actual weather widget on the website is unavailable, you should still just display the link so that people can click through.

Give me access to your code base i'll fix it for free. and I'll add the same link to the android app while we're at it.

if only they cared about improving the app half as much as they do trying to sell onx...

Thanks, Ellen. Unavailable weather on area pages is related to the location data not being set. There's been a ticket for it to be reviewed and resolved but it only effects a subset of areas so priority has been lower. Greatly appreciate the suggestions all the same, we're ramping up MP support this summer and hope to have this fixed or even improved.

@Adam, we hear you and the frustration. Though this particular bug isn't related to the MP app, it still gets at the bigger challenge of prioritization and investment. I hate lip service so I'll just say we care a lot about MP and hope our actions end up speaking louder than our words.

It definitely happens to areas with a GPS location.

Yeah, that's confusing. Showing GPS coordinates is different than the location being "set" on the backend. Hoping it's an easier fix.

it happens regularly to established areas - e.g., it was happening with red rocks areas this past weekend.  now it works again. the only reason this doesn't relate to the app is because the app doesn't even include weather info, forcing you to login online (logging in also didn't use to be required to view weather) and get more onx ads.

+1 it can't be related to whether or not the location is set, because a single location sometimes works and sometimes doesn't.

Reloading does not fix the issue, it works for a while and then doesn't work for a while.

Thanks for the correction and context. Updated the ticket and increased its priority accordingly.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
