Whats the deal with Peshastin Pinnacles?

I noticed them on MP recently and read about how they were the first access fund purchase before the access fund existed. What is the condition of the Pinnacles? Is it worth driving out there to go check it out? Is there an opportunity for new climbs to be established there? Are the climbs worth the hike?

Really beautiful area surrounded by orchards and early season a pretty beautiful view of the mountains. People used to climb here in the winter before places like Frenchman coulee and royal columns became the main destinations during dreary western Washington winters.

That said, the rock is pretty bad. The bolts have largely been replaced with new hardware, but wedge bolts in soft sandstone means like 50% of the hangers and some of the bolts are spinners.

For sure worth a trip out there, cool area. Show up early, hike around, and finish the day in Leavenworth which is only like 12 minutes away.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
