Hello,

I am taking a trip to Italy(Rome, Naples/Capri, Florence) (3/13-22) with my family and really want to do some climbing while I am there. I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations on some spots to climb. I am willing to travel to different spots especially if its worth it. I am not sure if I will be able to bring my rope and all my gear along so any guide recommendations would be appreciated as well.

Rock on!

I’m in the same boat, I’ll be out there with my band and stuck in Milan for 4 days. Looking for some places to climb and explore when I’m out there.

Finale Ligure is nearish Milan. Great region, lots of climbs.

If you are in Milano areas around Lake Maggiore, Lake Como and Lecco would be the best choice as you can do day trips.

Second that from the climbers I know who visited that area as part of that crag + Val di Mello trip.

Val di Mello is a top trad destination. All granite. 100k from Milan.

Finale and Pennavaire are great. Camaiore is also really nice and in Tuscany. Camaiore generally seems to be a bit more seepy than the Finale area, at least in my experience. It's a lot quieter though.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
