But he's right.

Is that the annoying part?

Not really, its just that he would spray and act like he's the chosen one whenever anybody did something different than him. Do some looking and you'll find that he was on most threads acting like this. He was almost like a troll but genuine. You can be 100% correct about a given topic without being an asshole about it. Maybe Kevin just didn't get that memo.

If you’re gonna dish it out, you gotta be able to take it.

Or just take your ball and go home in a huff.

Not being able to appreciate the value of lots of different personalities in the aid threads is like wanting to bolt all the cracks. If you guys kick out all the assholes there won't be any fun or knowledge left.

Nobody kicked anybody off.

Speaking from considerable personal experience here: prickly personalities need to exhibit sufficient self-awareness to know when their shtick is not working for others, and adjust accordingly.  “AITA here? Everyone else seems to think so, so…

K has made innumerable valuable contributions, but also seems incapable of expressing them without making other people wrong. Kind of a shame. But an internet forum will inevitably field a bunch of questions from the less experienced - they’re the ones who don’t know stuff- and it would be great if respondents could answer without the subtext of [I know more than you] [You’re doing it wrong] and perhaps with a smidgen of empathy for their own gumby days, however lost in the mist of their eons of subsequent experience.

If you know of a way a non-admin can "kick out" a user please let me know.  Would love to use this feature.

Also, thank you for this new insight that one must be an asshole in order to know anything or be capable of fun. Explains a lot of modern society actually.

I think Kevin is all that and more, in most of his posts. He is a tremendous mentor to others and has a vast wealth of knowledge of the current state of the game.

Like the rest of us very experienced types, if I may not-so-humble-brag, we can come off of as intolerable know-it-alls when faced with the tsunami of newb threads and responses going ga-ga over nothing burgers (despite that statement I think this has been a fun thread).

I think kev was guilty of succumbing to a bit of jadedness in his post. The response should have been more "easy there grumpy grandad, let the kids have their fun...they've never really wet their pants with ice cold urine yet..." rather than telling him his input was unwelcome.

Face it. You were a dick, Rob.

Kev deserves better, imo, even if it's a little tolerance of the geriatric (in a climbing experience level sense) among us. Even if he has crapped his depends on FA leads too much lol.

Not everyone is Rich Gold (anointed, patient saint and legend that he is).

Lets start another "is this anchor redundant enough thread"....

Don't be a dick, Pete.

You're as thin skinned as any IIRC.

RIP Kevin's profile, he always cleaned up my horribly cropped memes :(

As a noob on the receiving end of his many insights, He will be missed. The insanity of wall climbing claims yet another hapless soul.

Hopefully Kevin will just come back. I certainly enjoyed reading his stuff, even when I occasionally didn't understand it.
