BD Ultralight Camalot Trigger Kits

Per Black Diamond's web site, trigger kits are available for only three of the seven Ultralight Camalot sizes. Furthermore, it's been about two years since the #0.75 trigger kit has been available. I sent an e--mail to BD inquiring about the situation, which resulted in a response that they don't have a timeline for getting them back in stock. Sure, I can do work arounds to keep my units functional, but that shouldn't be necessary. Something to consider for your next gear purchase. Simply bad customer service.

I can make whatever you need. $6/pr.

I’m curious why BD can’t get these in stock. Any theories?

Can you fix the trigger keeper on my #4…it got bent and doesn’t seem to want to spring back after I’ve tried to bend it to its original shape

Good question for BD. Regardless of the specifics, it ultimately comes down to priorities.

You're on your own on that.  Put more offset in the legs and it should get snappy.

the BD ultralight trigger issue has been a disaster since they began making them.  i have two #4's.  the trigger wire on the first one broke the first time i placed it (unfortunately on the first pitch of a route where we needed to use it a lot).  the trigger wire on the second one broke the second day out with it.  i managed to cobble repairs together using materials i had at home, but still not happy with them.

i think the big problem with BD is that they are committed to making a bunch of t-shirts, trucker hats, pants, and hiking backpacks. i question if they are still even a climbing company.

10 minute repair with the right gauge cable.for sizes #1 and up at least. I believe I use picture hanging cable and thread it through the holes on the lobes then kink/smash the ends so they don't pull out. 6 out of my 7 UL cams have been repaired like this and I haven't had any issues since.

The green wire used for flower arrangements is another potentially useful option.

Ive sent a few cams directly to black diamomd to be retriggered, I believe an ultralight #4. Could be an option if you dont mind sending them off

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
