Soooo I've climbed in a Solution Guide for a lot of years now.  Absolutely love the harness.

However for some reason BD decided to no longer make it. I would just go to a Solution, but I need the 5th Gear Loop.

Tried a Petzl Hirundos at the gym but it just seemed so thin in the waist band it wouldn't offer any support. Any advice? Just go with the zone even though I hate the yellow and flashy colors.

My Trad harness is all set, this would be for gym, and sport climbs.  I like the 5th loop to keep any ATC etc on if needed.

Thanks all!

You don’t need a 5th loop for sport or the gym. Just get a solution

The AR-395A harness might be worth a look if you really want the 5th loop

If you really need the 5th gear loop, just tie some cord between the back 2 loops to create a 5th.

Not to be too upfront, but how much do you weigh? I’m ~170 and use the Hirundos for sport and double rack max trad days and find it plenty comfy for dogging. The ar 395a holds a heavier rack more comfortably but it’s an expensive harness. The fifth loop for sport is sort of useless, normally all your draws are on the front loops anyway so you can put your dogging draw and spare locker on the back loops

Thanks Brandon.  6'0 165-170 so maybe I'll give it a try.

Isn't the BD Zone really just the same thing but with ice tool slots?

I went with that and have no complaints so far.

Petzl Aquila has been great for me. Tons of gear loops. I have an Arc 395a I'm selling. Used one time. Asking $100 plus shipping for it. Just a little too big for me. HARNESS SOLD

What size is it?

Mens medium. Just a hair small for my 31" waist.

I added a fifth loop by tying a piece of 550 cord between the two back gear loops. I put a piece of shrink wrap over the cord for some added durability. Been using it for years with no issues.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
